OUR AGENDA

PAMA FUTURES Indigenous designed and led

OVERVIEW

The Pama Futures agenda is our best way forward for the social, economic and cultural development of First Nations people of Cape York.

For over 40 years, Cape York has been at the forefront of empowering the indigenous people and communities of Australia. We do not need our problems fixed for us: we must be enabled to fix them for ourselves. The Pama Futures agenda reflects the people’s intent, priorities, and lived experience and was designed by the bama of Cape York to give us the empowerment we need to solve our problems and develop our communities.

To further the people’s agenda, Cape York leaders joined other regional representatives from across Australia to found the Empowered Communities. At the heart of both lies a set of transformational national reforms for Indigenous empowerment.
